This 3 hour workshop will deepen the understanding of attachment patterns in our clients, using Circle of Security as a model to understand our role in assisting our clients, and also the clients’ defenses against our interventions.

Understanding & Working with Children and Youth Who Have Been Sexually Exploited
Nov. 4 & 5 – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This workshop will give you the understanding and skills to work with children and youth who have been sexually exploited/trafficked in the sex trade.

Foundations in Person Centred Work
Nov. 16 – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
This is a three-hour introduction into the core themes, values and skills front line staff need in the work they do. We will cover the importance of having a person-centered approach, about the importance of empathy and relationship building in the work we do, and how these approaches can be an effective way of mentoring youth and adults to build their social capacity in the world.

Barriers and Pathways to Connecting with Adolescents
Nov. 18 – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This three-hour workshop explores behaviors parents or professional helpers may be inadvertently doing that creates barriers to connecting with adolescents. This is achieved by exploring and understanding the importance of a regulated nervous system to have the adolescent access their adult.

Understanding Adolescents: Using Attachment to Support Adolescents Development
Nov. 25 – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This three-hour workshop is designed to help parents and professional helpers recognize the importance of parent-adolescent attachment. Adolescent Development will be explored to demystify the teenage years and help parents be more present and connected to the youth they support. Anybody who is supporting youth and would like to experience a different way of being in relationship with them should attend.
