Supported Independent Living (S.I.L.) services support people who have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health barriers who choose to live independently in the community.
The SIL staff support individuals using a person-centred, strengths based approach that includes a trauma informed, dignity of risk perspective. S.I.L Case Managers work with each individual to identify and achieve goals specific to their needs and wants. The SIL team utilizes self-determination and relationship building to engage effectively with people long term. Relationships based on trust, respect and empowerment are developed between the person and their support team. The service focuses on encouraging people to live as independent members of their community.
