Ashley Zuk started her career in the social services sector over 20 years ago.
“I have always been passionate about working with people and the idea of supporting them and helping them live their best lives possible is what drew me into this line of work”, said Ashley, who has been with New Directions for almost six years.
Originally starting as an Assistant Coordinator in our Regional Services, she saw her role and career evolve along with New Directions’ programs outside of Winnipeg.
“I’m so grateful to still be able to live in my small town and have a challenging career with great work-life balance”. Ashley currently oversees two programs in New Directions’ Regional Services, while still living in St. Claude, Manitoba.
Her favourite part of her job has been watching people achieve their dreams, no matter how big or how small. “I love watching the smiles on people’s faces when they accomplish something they didn’t think was possible.” Watching the individuals we support thrive and succeed is something Ashley finds incredibly fulfilling. “It’s great to see people achieve their dreams not matter how big or how small.”
Ashley also assists with training at New Directions, working as a facilitator in our Ability Awareness Training. She is passionate about work at New Directions and enjoys her tight knit Regional Services team. “New Directions cares for both the individuals we support and our staff. Everyone is friendly and easy going; it just feels like home.”
