New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.

The Support Facilitator is responsible for: Providing support and encouragement to the participants in group and individual settings; Teaching of basic life skills; Supporting youth in cultural, recreation and educational activities in the community; Documenting file notes and maintaining records of all expenses and receipts and Presenting self and program in a positive and professional manner within the organization and in the community.

The successful candidate will have:

· Child and Youth Care Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Previous experience working with youth who have been marginalized and/or exploited

· A demonstrated knowledge, awareness and sensitivity of Indigenous Cultures and Traditions and be inclusive of multi-cultural values, beliefs and lifestyles

· Ability to work a variety of shifts including some evenings and weekends

· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for work purposes

· Excellent team skills, documentation skills, creativity and high energy level

The salary range for this term position is $15.89 to $22.25 per hour (35 hours/week, equivalent to $28,919 – $40,495 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which includes Health, Dental, and Long Term Disability Benefits) is provided to regular, full-time employees.

The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record Check, Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check, Prior Contact Checks; and must supply a current driver’s abstract.
