To celebrate Direct Support Professionals Week, the Alliance of Direct Support Professionals of Manitoba (ADSPM) asked all membered organizations to nominate DSPs they felt go above and beyond to make a difference for people in their community. Amelia (Elaine) Newhook from Adult Day Services received the DSP of Distinction Award.
“Elaine is very in tune with the individuals we support and is always there to provide emotional support when needed. For Elaine, the needs of the individuals we support always comes first. Elaine is always advocating for those she supports and will go above and beyond her job requirements when needed.”
