Betty Wiebe Hosein, BA, MA is a Program Counsellor with the FASD Family Support, Education and Counselling program of New Directions. She has worked as a counsellor with children and families for 20 years and has been with New Directions, supporting families affected by FASD since 2007. Betty obtained her Masters of Arts in Counselling in 2000. She holds a certificate in Self Regulation Therapy, addressing the neurobiological effects of life stressors and trauma with caregivers and youth. Betty is a registered facilitator for the Circle of Security Parenting program and has facilitated a variety of other parenting support groups. Betty works with children up to age six and seeks to practice a holistic approach in all she does. She enjoys facilitating the caregiver’s identified goals and seeks to understand the “growing edge” of each family member.
