Family Stepping Stones
Family Stepping Stones works with the parents, child and a team of supporters that includes CFS, relatives and significant others. Together, a plan is created to guide the parents and life at home with routines based on culture and traditions.
Parenting is hard. Parenting with the challenges of substance abuse, mental health issues, trauma and limited resources and support can make parenting even harder. Having a child in the care of Child and Family Services (CFS) or at risk of going into care makes things more difficult.
The parents are welcome to engage in routines, teachings, guidance, and support their children in the home. No specific length of time is required. Time at the home is meant to learn parenting skills and support the child or youth.
