Coordinator II

New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities.
We are currently seeking a full time – term Coordinator II to join and support the Adult Home Share team. Adult Home Share supports adult individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
• Provide supervision to Case Managers and Assistant Coordinators
• Work with the AHS leadership team to plan, organize, and implement service delivery.
• Complete all administration and documentation requirements according to all agency, service area and government standards
• Oversee and maintain Licensing standards for existing Home Share Providers
• Develop new Home Shares in consultation and accordance with Residential Care Licensing
• Participating in the Adult Home Share On-Call rotation
• Liaise with inter/intra agency professionals.

What you will have:
• Applicants must have a B.S.W./B.A. or related social services with experience working with individuals who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues.
• Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience providing case management or clinical support within the disability services sector or a related field.
• Applicants must have supervisory experience, including orientation, training, and performance management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Independent decision making.
• Demonstrates awareness of and is committed to continuous learning related to all issues and aspects of community disability services.
• Ability to foster, maintain and model leadership through staff meetings, trainings, orientation, supervision.
• Ability to manage crisis situations.
• Candidates should be knowledgeable and sensitive of Aboriginal culture and traditions.
• Emotional skills to deal with challenging situations while keeping a positive attitude and creative problem-solving thinking.
• Experience with care plan development and implementation, where the client’s well-being is the focus.
• An understanding of person-centered frameworks, including a case management model of service, and a drive to ensure supports are implemented

The salary range for this full-time term position is $27.33 per hour to $38.27 per hour ($49,740 to $69,651 per annum) based on a 35-hour work week. This is a one-year term position.

The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child and Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Checks. A current Driver’s Abstract and will also be required.
