New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults and Families is a non-profit, community-based organization that provides a diverse range of supports to individuals in a variety of settings. We deliver individualized services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities.
Adult Home Share (AHS) is one of the many services areas within New Directions, providing support to over 200 people in 160 home share locations in Winnipeg and surrounding area. AHS strives to promote a sense of belonging and to provide opportunities for individuals to have meaningful lives, achieved by providing person-centered supports.
We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Coordinator to join and support our team. Responsibilities include orienting and scheduling staff; tracking and remitting timesheets; participating and following up with licensing reviews and participants’ personal financial plans.
The ideal candidate will possess qualifications that include:
- A diploma in Disability & Community Support or other related education
- 2 years’ experience supporting adults with disabilities,
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products, including, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office 365, and SharePoint,
- Strong attention to detail,
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to take independent action, demonstrating initiative,
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle,
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts,
- A strong predisposition for continued learning,
- A demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diversity of culture and ability.
The salary range for this 35-hour per week, full-time position is $19.07 to $26.71 per hour (equivalent to $34,707 to $48,612 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience of the successful candidate. A full benefits package (which include Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff. Please note that this position is an on-site position with work done in the office.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks; and must supply a current driver’s abstract.
