Introducing Aveeve McLaughlin, Our New Board Chair

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news. Aveeve McLaughlin, a four-year member of our Board, has recently moved into the role of Board Chair!

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting her, here’s a quick introduction:

Aveeve holds a MSW and is a registered social worker (RSW), with a rich background in both the nonprofit sector and clinical mental-health work. She is known for being warm, honest, and deeply committed to helping others. Her approach is grounded in trust, collaboration, and evidence-based methods, all of which resonate with New Directions’ mission.

“I’m humbled to step into the role of Board Chair following David Brand. David has served on the board since 2004, and his deep commitment to New Directions, wealth of institutional knowledge, and ongoing support have made this transition truly seamless.

Our board is made up of amazing, dedicated individuals who bring a remarkable breadth of experience, insight, and passion to advancing the mission of New Directions. It’s a privilege to work alongside them as we continue supporting responsive, individualized services that foster the hopes and dreams of those in our community,” she says.

With experience across a variety of systems, Aveeve knows how to connect lived experience with strategic action. We’re confident she will help steer our board and organization in fresh and meaningful ways,

We’ll also be sharpening our focus on connection, between people, services, and opportunities. With her at the helm, we’re excited to grow stronger together.
