Honouring Our Journey Celebrates its First Grads!

On a beautiful spring day at Neecheewam, a significant milestone was reached. Billie, Melissa, and Toby became the first graduates of New Directions School through the Honouring Our Journey program. They are set to receive their Mature Student Diplomas at the end of the month. The feast and honouring ceremony was filled with joy, love, and heartfelt words, including a moving tribute from Nahanni Fontaine, Minister of Families.

The celebration brought together families, staff, and supporters who have walked alongside these students throughout their journey. The room was filled with laughter, a few tears, and powerful drumming from the Honouring Our Journey drummers. To Billie, Melissa, and Toby: your accomplishments inspire us all. As Angela said, “You earned it!” And to everyone who came to celebrate, thank you for continuing to honour and uplift these students. We can’t wait to see what they do next.
