Brandon Has a New Office!

It has been just over four years since New Directions expanded into the Westman region. Securing new office space in Brandon has been an exciting milestone for the team. Having a dedicated space means a central place to connect, collaborate and continue building our presence in the community.

The office includes four private offices, a large reception area and a spacious common area that allows individuals and staff from Shift Staffed Homes, Community Supports and Outreach, and Supported Independent Living to come together for activities and group events. There is also access to large training rooms, providing the opportunity for staff training and larger gatherings in Brandon.

The new space has allowed us to expand programming in Westman. Individualized day programming has recently been introduced, along with monthly activities and events that bring individuals from across the different services together.

One of the biggest highlights has been the everyday connections that happen in the new space. It is always exciting when individuals stop by unexpectedly just to visit, say hello or see what is happening at the office. These connections create a feeling that our new location is more than just an office. It is a welcoming place for staff and individuals.

Another exciting result has been the increased visibility within the Brandon community. Since the office opened, the New Directions logo displayed outside has sparked curiosity and led to many calls from people wanting to learn about what New Directions has to offer, which has resulted in more referrals.

After more than four years of growth in Westman, it is incredibly rewarding to have a space of our own and to see what it is already becoming for individuals, staff and the New Directions community moving forward.
