New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults and Families is a non-profit, community-based organization that provides a diverse range of supports to individuals in a variety of settings. We deliver individualized services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities. Adult Home Share (AHS) is one of the many services areas within New Directions, providing support to over 200 people in 160 home share locations in Winnipeg and surrounding area. AHS strives to promote a sense of belonging and to provide opportunities for individuals to have meaningful lives, achieved by providing person-centered supports.

Adult Home Share is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Coordinator to join their team. The Assistant Coordinator will:
- Oversee administrative procedures within the service area,
- Recommend adjustments to administrative processes as needed and implement once approved,
- Act as the main point of contact for the clerical assistant(s) in the service area,
- Provide administrative support specific to service coordination initiatives, aligning work with requirements across Adult Services,
- Maintain and update files and the client database,
- Audit service area documents and files to ensure they are complete according to standards,
- Fulfill the required reporting requirements for both licensing and funding partners,
- Assist with financial administration within the service area,
- Coordinate all Home Share provider training and complete any required follow-up,
- Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders in-person and virtually.
The ideal candidate will possess qualifications that include:
- A diploma or degree in Business Administration or similar,
- 3 years’ experience working in an office environment providing administrative support,
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products, including, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office 365, and SharePoint,
- Comfort in the regular navigation of client databases with the ability to maintain accurate data entry,
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to take independent action, demonstrating initiative,
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts,
- A strong predisposition for continued learning,
- A demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diversity of culture and ability.
- Experience working in the Adult Disability Services sector (or related) and knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) are both considered assets.

The salary range for this 35-hour per week, full-time position is $18.79 to $26.32 per hour (equivalent to $34,197 to $47,902 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience of the successful candidate. A full benefits package (which include Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff. Please note that this position is an on-site position with work done in the office.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Adult Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate must also complete computer and administrative skills testing.
